Man, that’s the worst. ![]() We bought the Kura bed for my daughter and she loves it, and obviously that option is not going to work for you and your husband, but at least it has been an example to us that Ikea can make a sturdy bed frame! Also we used to have a lot of trouble with the slats, but Ikea makes curved slats now that work much better. Since the head/foot are long, heavy pieces instead of having individual legs, if you try to push/pull the bed anywhere to move it to vacuum or anything, it kind of tears itself apart, and you have to tighten everything again. Based on my past experience, I would say do not get a Malm I moved with mine a few times and it was hard to get it to stay fastened together tight after multiple assemblies and disassemblies. I love Ikea too, but don't currently have an Ikea bedframe. ![]()
